Cookie Cutter Clones. Dell, HP, & Sony etc are primarily hardware middlemen.  The high volume & low diversity determine their vendor relationships and result in a commodity product.  Available options are a fraction that of a quality custom designer.  While great for cost reduction & marketing machines, it’s neither the sharpest nor best technology tool. User Environment. Unable to know the person or company, their needs, or their technical surroundings, customers fend for themselves with the most complex machines in history. Marketing Driven. Requiring massive marketing to deliver their produt, and speaking pulling the wool over the eyes of the non-technical.  Weak Software Choices.  Most big box software “options” come from “scratch your back” relationships with big software houses, not your needs.  And much of the most used applications are Trialware - use 60 days then pay more $$.  For Whom? For simple systems & knowledgeable consumers, they’re OK.  But for many, especially those desiring functionally rich computers, they fall short, and their marketing claims of much hardware for the buck in reality often mean a LOW cost/benefit ratio.

SHAPES & SIZES The venerable tower has been in use for many years.  They are the most common and flexible style, providing room for initial options and for expansion and changes down the road.  Depending on your needs, they're available in a wide variety of sizes and colors.    A stylish and fairly compact form uses a cubical or nearly cubical form.  While still using common components, their compact and aesthetically looks add mobility and provide a smaller footprint in places where size is important.     For something very stylish that fits well into the entertainment rooms of the world are the Home Theatre cases.  Generally set up to do “next-generation” computer based management of audio and video, bringing all forms of movies, music and web based entertainment into the living room.

People surrounded by Apple users/support, specialty/limited computing needs, & possessing lots of $$.
